ON LOCATION: PERRY'S WINE + LIQUORS, PROVINCETOWN

The famous "OPEN" sign heralds all of Provincetown to a unique selection of wine, spirits and delicious provisions.

Our favorite spot to grab the perfect bottle of wine and snacks for a day at the beach is Perry’s Wine and Liquors in the West End. Perry’s has been a corner shop since 1934, and while there is no shortage of bottle shops in P-town, current owners Tom and Scott take a quality over quantity approach in presenting their selection of specialty wines, artisanal cheeses, high-quality meats and more.

Whether you’re looking to load up on treats for a fun in the sun afternoon on the sand or want to bring something extra special to that backyard barbecue, Perry’s has become a beloved community cornerstone for having just the right thing. Moroccan roasted almonds (Tom’s grandma’s recipe!), Serge’s locally famous P-town pickles, unapologetically delicious international cheeses, infused olive oil on one of the best baguettes in town and homemade hummus from Connie’s Bakery (just up Commercial street) are only a few of our favorite snacks to snag on from a trip to Perry’s. Carnivorous cravings are also easily cured with air-chilled chicken, Frenched pork chops, and lean Angus beef cuts – all humanely and ethically raised on smaller farms. And of course, Tom and Scott are experts in finding just the right wine to pair with your food picks.

The beautiful shop is laden with unique wines, artisanal spirits and delicious provisions.

Starting to realize that this is more than your average wine and liquor store? Having left behind a busier life of running a French restaurant, Tom and Scott have honed their efforts on sourcing hard to find fine wines and high-quality provisions fit for the perfect P-town picnic. Enter the shop thirsty and leave quenched with an unrivaled abundance of food and beverage knowledge – these guys know their stuff and are thrilled to chat about their prided products.

Some of our favorite picks: check out Scott's featured wines of the week, the local pickles from Serge are must, plastic wine glasses for the boat from GoVino are the seriously addictive Maroc Almonds are an essential summer - stock up item!

When they’re not crafting their own wines or educating P-town crowds in the shop, here are some of Tom and Scott’s favorite ways to spend a day in Provincetown:

LONG POINT Take the shuttle to long point “and just relax all day with some rosé – always – and potato chips”

THE DUNES Taking long dune walks “especially in the winter”

THE NATURAL BEAUTY Just enjoying the nature “usually not on Commercial Street, but we love taking our Lab out to soak all the beauty in”
